This the only experimental Works Rally Elan built and tested by Lotus Components for the 1966 RAC Rally.


his is the "works" prepared RAC rally experimental Elan Coupe. Many 26R bits are found on the car and its providence has been confirmed by the Lotus factory. It was the only "works" rally Elan ever made.


Lotus "Works" Experimental Rally Car built by Lotus Components in June 1966, for entry into the Nov 1966 RAC rally. Only version built. Many 26R bits, with BRM T/C motor and ultra C/R gearbox. Under going longest restoration in the world in my little garage.

Its the only one built and in reality it should have been called 36R or 36rally. Mr ACBC
got pissed off with the project when it came to light and it was given to Jim Clark's
Team Lotus as a hack.
