1966 Lotus Elan S3 (FHC-preairflow)

It is estimated to have been built on March/April '66, and sold on May '66. Matching numbers, for VIN Plate and Portuguese Historic Documents, Andy Graham, the Lotus archivist, states that the data is most likely correct, even if Lotus factory records were lost. Bears optional features inc 2.5 gearbox and 3.9 diff.. a good example of early pre-airflow S2.5 that differently from the first 100 elan pre-airflow, it has S3 radiator and window toggle switches on the dashboard. Imported from Portugal to Italy in 2021. In good shape and complete but a full refresh is in progress, the bodywork will be stripped of all layer and restored to its original colour, which from a photo taken in the early 1970s and confirmed by the layers of colour found on the body, turns out to be a beautiful BRG. Original chassis is in good condition. No information yet uncovered about its life in Portugal and would be grateful for anything in this regard. Approx 2020 it was offered for sale by Interclassico a vendor in Alcacer do Sal (Lisbon).
