1965 Lotus Elan S2 (Roadster)

Special hardtop - with wrap around lexan rear screen
Raced extensively - last race was at Silverstone in late 70’s.
Last driven on the road - September 1979
Mileage when taken off road - 94265
Original colour was Medici Blue with black hardtop. It was subsequently repainted black with a gold hardtop and finally fluorescent green overall.
Original engine, gearbox and diff. Chassis was replaced at some point.
Between 1986 and 1990 the car underwent considerable restoration but owing to a personal bereavement all work was halted in 1990 when the car was approximately 60% complete with many new parts having been purchased directly from Lotus but unfitted. The vehicle was then stored in a heated dry industrial garage until its sale in 2016.

Since buying the car it has been totally restored over 3 years. It went back on the road in October 2019.
